Sunday at the zoo

Here we are checking out the lions.  Of course, they're sleeping.

We saw a giraffe birthing.  Yes, those are feet you're seeing!
We saw a spotted leopard...

...sleeping.  It reminded us of someone at home.

Madelyn insisted on walking.

And lots of walking she did.

  1. Fun times at the zoo. Is that a Nuggets-colored Avs hat?

  2. Yay for the zoo! I can't believe you saw a giraffe birthing - how neat. Pretty soon Madelyn will be running after those peacocks like it's her job.

BABY GIRAFFE BORN ON JULY 25

A healthy baby giraffe was born on July 25 in the giraffe building. Masika gave birth to a male giraffe, named Nitro, at 10:01 a.m. Zookeepers examined the baby and found he was in excellent health. Nitro was observed nursing and mother and son seem to be bonding well. Nitro’s weight was approximately 150 pounds and height was approximately 6 feet. Dikembe, 16 years old, is the father of the baby giraffe.
